John XXIII Catholic School
195 Athabasca Street,
Message from Administration
It seems hard to believe that the March Break is almost here. We hope that Spring is just around the corner, but we remind all students to continue to come prepared to go outside with their mittens, hats, scarves, coat buttoned up properly, snow pants and boots.
Our junior sports teams have just completed their school basketball tournaments. Both teams did an outstanding job of representing our school. The girls won their local school tournament and the boys finished second. We thank the staff that came forward to coach these teams either before or after school or during their lunch. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students, but even more proud when they conduct themselves with dignity and respect for themselves and others. Good sportsmanship, teamwork and goal setting are all important life-long skills.
We began our Lenten journey on Wednesday, February 10th with the distribution of Ashes. This was held at our school Mass where we discussed the importance of preparing for Easter through Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving. I encourage you to take time to talk to your children about how they are preparing during Lent and how you can make this a family experience at home.
I’d like to wish our staff and students a great March Break. Relax, have fun and be safe.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Mr. M. Legacy Mrs. S. Richard
